What is a tow trailer? What are the types of tractor trailers?

"Towing a trailer" is a term we often see. For example, in the question bank of the driver's license test, it is often seen that "vehicles are not allowed to tow a trailer during the internship", which refers to the behavior of using a vehicle to tow and pull the rear compartment. In fact, besides expressing the meaning of verbs at this level, tractor-trailer also specifically refers to a type of vehicle that is widely used in the logistics and transportation industry. Generally speaking, a tractor trailer refers to a vehicle that has no drive capability and is mainly used to provide cargo loading space and load-bearing capacity, and relies on the traction power provided by the tractor in front to achieve driving. With the continuous development of the automobile industry, more and more tractor models are gradually emerging. From the perspective of types, traction trailers can be mainly divided into the following categories:

 1. Semi-trailer. At present, the semi-trailer is the most widely used type of carriage in domestic road transportation. Its axle is installed at the rear of the carriage, so it cannot stand independently by itself. The support force keeps it upright. That is to say, the tractor needs to install a special traction saddle behind the vehicle body to bear part of the weight of the semi-trailer compartment and provide traction power at the same time. After the semi-trailer is separated from the tractor, special outriggers are needed for support. Semi-trailers can be subdivided into flat type, gooseneck type, concave beam type, warehouse grid type, fence type, van type, container type, tank type, self-unloading type, skeleton type and other types. Strong, easy to match the main hanger, more flexible in application, strong bearing capacity, especially suitable for long-distance transportation and high-grade road transportation, without steering device.

 2. Full trailer. The full trailer is opposite to the semi-trailer. The biggest difference is that the full trailer can stand independently, and the installation and distribution of its axles can bear the weight of the cabin evenly, so it can stand upright even if it is not connected to the tractor. The tractor in front only needs to provide traction power, so it can be connected with a hitch.
