When many card friends first entered the industry, they were always at a loss when they heard terms like "half-hang", "full-hang" and "drop-hang" from time to time, and they didn't know what the difference was. When asking people specifically, sometimes even the old driver can't explain the relationship between them. So, what is the difference between half hanging and full hanging? How to distinguish?
The main points of the distinction between full-mounted and semi-mounted: different traction methods
First of all, two concepts must be clarified: what is a tractor? What is a trailer? The front of the car with driving ability is called a tractor, and the car with no traction and driving ability in the back is called a trailer, and the trailer is towed by the tractor. The full-trailer and semi-trailer are distinguished based on the different connection methods of the front tractor.
The most obvious difference between the full hanging and the semi hanging is that the full hanging can stand independently, while the semi hanging must rely on the front legs to stand.
●Full trailer: the trailer can be independently supported and stable, and the trailer is fully loaded
The full trailer is literally well understood. The load of the entire vehicle is fully borne by the trailer itself, and is only connected to the main vehicle by hooks. The main vehicle does not need to bear the trailer load, but only provides power to realize the traction and steering of the full trailer. A typical full-trailer generally consists of a frame, a cargo platform (top-loading), a drawbar (frame) (with a hanging ring), a steering device, a suspension, a wheel, a braking system, and a signal system. At present, full trailers are mainly used for transportation in docks, factories, ports and other fields.
The most popular period of full trailers in my country was the 1970s and 1990s. At that time, the output of automobiles was small, the speed was very low, the roads were not developed, and there were no special requirements for tractors; it was convenient to drop and pull, and the manufacturing cost was low. There are many trailer production plants in my country, and many refit plants now start with the production of trailers. However, with the development of my country's automobile industry and the popularization of expressways, safety problems such as the traditional full-trailer's braking tail drift and poor high-speed straight-line driving performance have been exposed. Therefore, my country has restricted the use of full trailers.
● Semi-trailer: The trailer cannot stand independently, and the main trailer can carry it together
The semi-trailer is developed on the basis of the full-trailer. The semi-trailer is that the front half of the trailer rides on the traction saddle above the rear section of the tractor, and the axle behind the tractor bears part of the weight of the trailer.
Semi-trailer is the most commonly used and most familiar type of trailer. There are many types of semi-trailers, such as flatbed type, gooseneck type, concave beam type and various special semi-trailers, which almost cover the more commonly used models. Due to its flexible application and large bearing capacity, semi-trailer is especially suitable for long-distance and high-grade road transportation, and has become the most important transportation tool in road transportation vehicles.
